Student / Teacher Connection

I am an artist as well as a teacher. This duality, I feel, benefits both me and my students.  By actively creating art and making room in my life for the creative process, I am constantly learning new things and discovering new processes that I can use to enrich my lessons.  Conversely, my student's art is an endless source of inspiration for me.  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't learn something new from a child.  Below (on the left) are some examples of my art.  On the right is student work.  If you look carefully, you will see the common threads and shared experiences that are part of the teacher/student relationship in the arts.
